• With its new look, Mems becomes a part of the trendiest restaurants of the 10th district.

The renovation of Mems, orchestrated by Laura Gonzalez, is definitely a success. The subtle mix of bargain-hunted items, 50s themed wallpapers, and geometric prints of the decor create a trendy and warm atmosphere. Dix years ago, David Memmi and his sister Deborah challenged themselves to open a restaurant together.

With this new decoration, the duo met another challenge : revitalizing and giving a new personnality to this place that has already become the favourite spot of the inhabitants of the district.

As far as the food is concerned, it is hard to recommend one dish over the other : the menu keeps changing, for our greatest delight. Every day at lunch time, regular customers have the opporutunity to have a different menu of the day for the same price. An eclectic menu that fulfils only one requirement: taste and simplicity. On top of representing a very challenging value compared to other restaurants of the capital, the chef’s cuisine satisfies our taste buds without losing its identity. Cherry on the cake: the careful and meticulous display of the dishes will also please your eyes.

On top of presenting a whole lot of mouth-watering dishes (Thaï Duck magret, Chicken and Brie Burger, cod and vegetables baked en papillote…), the menu offers several meals to share : quesadillas with melted cheddar, fresh cheese with truffle oil, and Edamame beans with Espelette pepper will be the favourite allies of Mems’ clients this summer.

Save some space in your stomach for the speciality of the house, the Banofee pie, which will probably become your new sweet addiction. Don’t tell us we didn’t warn you…

The first Saint Laurent flagship opens in the most prestigious district of Paris.

Marble, concrete and game of mirrors. It is in a very contemporary art deco atmosphere that fashion addicts are now able to find the latest creations of the famous house. The brand designed by Hedi Slimane unveiled this new space of 900m² divided into two floors last week. The ground floor gives pride of place to accessories, from bags to shoes, and the unisex jewellery line of the French designer. The first floor is dedicated to the ready-to-wear collections for women and men.

This new flagship is definitely a reflection of the designer’s spirit : resolutely rock!

Since its career took off in the 70s, Patrick Demarchelier stands among the most respected photographs. Everywhere in Europe, Art lives at night during the Night of Museums.

This 9th edition of this unmissable event for art and culture lovers promises to be a wonderful experience mixing various forms of art. During this night characterized by heritage, almost all museums of Paris will be free and open to the public.

This year, all types of art will be represented : on top of the traditional guided tour, several museums offer exclusive and original events.

• At the Louvre, Italian artist Michelangelo Postoletto will make you discover another side of the monuments standing along the Seine through a unique performance.

• Between a mysterious investigation, a movie projection and a magical lantern show, the musée des Arts et Métiers definitely wants to attract adventurers : from 6pm, discover the stories of the great inventions such as electricity, astrolabes or the steam machine.

• The musée de l’Institut du monde arabe offers you to embark on a journey to the country of One and a Thousand nights. Children will be amazed by the reading of tales from Orient and probably won’t resist to play the game La Reine de Saba organized by the museum.

• This night will also be an opportunity to discover all the wonders of the musée du Quai Branly. Visitors will be invited to take part in multimedia art workshops and will have the chance to attend a performance created by Albin Richard, the choreographer of the Théâtre national de Chaillot, and inspired by ritual dances.

• At musée d’Orsay, you will be able to either visit the exhibition The Angel of the Odd on your own or to follow the museum’s speakers who will introduce 10 major pieces from the the permanent collection.

• The Grand Palais will give pride of place to its successful exhibition Dynamo during an exceptional and secret event : the Dynamo Live Party.

• Finally, music lovers will be delighted by the program concocted by the Cité de la Musique : a concert on the theme of the exhibition Music and Cinema : wedding of the century?

• We didn’t have to bargin-hunt to find this super trendy restaurant, but in order to seduce ma cocotte (my darling), we’d be ready to become bric-a-brac traders.

Behind this name full of tenderness hides a warm restaurant that serves comforting food. It’s almost like home at ma cocotte, better even. Set in the middle of the puces de St Ouen, in the middle of antiques, the restaurant was decorated by Philippe Starck who turned it into a bobo chic place. Wood harmonises with concrete in a place that looks like a cabinet of curiosity. The expert of design thus delivers a restaurant that appeals to everyone.

In the plate, you will find great meals that evoke our grand mothers’ cuisine : Shepherd’s pie, ratatouille, macaroni, free-range chicken, fish and chips, chocolate mousse, and tarte tatin all appear on the menu. In the kitchen, Chef Yannick Papin skillfully combines tradition and modernity.
Gastronomy lovers will meet with pleasure around a plate to share and a good glass of wine : a moment of pure simplicity and friendliness.
