Christmas log: Our selection to enhance your New Year's Eve

the famous Yule log… This is THE culinary tradition that you cannot escape during the end-of-year celebrations. We then reveal a selection of the most beautiful creations of the pastry chefs! Watch out, you're going to have fun! 


The log of Lutetia

Tastes : Imagined by Pastry Chef Nicolas Guercio, this pretty Art Deco Christmas ball takes up all the elements of the magnificent hotel. A prestigious Yule log thanks to its marquetry style rings and forged irons of the Marquise... A gourmet creation that perfectly combines rosé champagne mousse and creamy grapefruit. Just like the raspberry confit and the crispy puffed rice, raspberries and grapefruit zest.

The price : €105 for 6 to 8 people.

Where is it found? At Lutetia, 45 Boulevard Raspail, 75006, Paris. The yule log is on sale until December 31 by reservation only (48 hours minimum) on 01 49 54 46 00. Possibility of tasting it on the Tea Time menu in individual format from December 1 to January 5. At €18 per slice.


The log of La Réserve Paris

Tastes : Chef Adrien Salavert usually wanders around the Library of the Duc de Morny in search of inspiration. And it is to this same privileged place that he has decided to pay homage. This is the most original Christmas log that we have seen. Indeed, we then discover a trompe-l'oeil log made up of 3 books in the colors of the hotel. Golden Cordoba leather, red lacquer and dark wood.

The chocolate cover of the first book opens to reveal tea chocolates, while the underside forms a refined log. We find the scent of citrus fruits, chocolate and black tea with woody notes... Or, the promise of a dream Christmas by the fireside in the library.

-The log of Maison Noura

Tastes : This year, Maison Noura is offering a cute bûchette signed Christophe Michalak. Passionate about orange blossom, the French chef was inspired by Lebanese flavors to create this XXS Yule log. It takes up the codes of the house. Thus, ct is around the Orient that the star pastry chef takes us on a journey. At the first bite, we discover a crispy sesame praline and its almond biscuit without wheat flour. All accompanied by dulcey caramel and its orange blossom and rose panacotta mousse, mouhalabié style… An oriental delight!

The price : €9,50 for 1 person.

The log of the Plaza Athénée

Tastes : This larger than life Yule log was created by world pastry champion Angelo Musa and pastry chef Alexandre Dufeu. Called “Sous l'Écorce”, it is made of dark chocolate and a milk chocolate mousse. And conceals in its heart a citrus marmalade and a creamy dark chocolate for an explosion of flavors.

The price : 120 € for 6 people.

Where is it found? At the Plaza Athénée from 23 December. Reservations on 01 53 67 65 97.


Angelina's log

Tastes : As usual, Angelina thinks of everyone and offers 2 different yule log recipes. Our favorite this year? The “Boréale” which revolves around a milk chocolate and hazelnut mousse. A hazelnut millefeuille, a chocolate ganache and a biscuit
Chocolate Mona Lisa. A creamy praline, an insert with orange zest and tonka bring the final touch… The combinations are just right and will conquer the hearts of gourmets.

The price : €79 for 8 to 10 people.

The log of Meurice

Tastes : For the end-of-year celebrations, Cédric Grolet offers a fresh log, full of finesse. The star pastry chef combines here several aerial preparations. A soft lemon biscuit, fresh lemon zest, runny heart formed by a lemon gel and black lemon from Iran. Juice and segments of lemons… To this are added whole fresh herbs, a few points of basil pesto, tarragon, mint and marigold. All this, delicately layered on a crispy lightly roasted cereal. 

The price : €20 per slice, €50 for 3 to 4 people or €98 for 6 to 8 people.

Where is it found? Every afternoon from 15:30 p.m. to 18 p.m., for lunch or dinner, at the Restaurant Le Dalí. From December 16 to December 26, 2019. Also available to take away from December 17 to 31 at the Pâtisserie du Meurice by Cédric Grolet. On order from December 3 directly in store at 6 rue de Castiglione 75001, Paris.


The Bristol log

Tastes :  Pastry Chef Julien Alvarez has imagined a yule log of the most gourmet vanilla-cocoa flavor. Composed of a crispy bar with cocoa nibs. Crossbred with toasted vanilla and golden caramelized white chocolate, this spherical entremet bears the iconic Bristol seal. Perfect to vary the pleasures.

The price : €110 for 6 to 8 people.

The Ritz log

Tastes : François Perret delights us with this magnificent yule log that gives pride of place to chocolate. Under this delicate spiral sprinkled with gold, we discover a soft biscuit with roasted hazelnuts. But still a creamy gianduja and 70% dark chocolate and a muscovado cream… With this precious creation, the Best Restaurant Pastry Chef in the world will delight cocoa aficionados.

The price : €110 for 6 to 8 people.

The Royal Monceau log

Tastes :  To celebrate with great pomp his 10 years of collaboration with the Royal Monceau, Pierre Hermé has imagined a majestic wheel. And all chocolate. With a turn of the handle, this log with wintery notes reveals its share of little sweets: macaroons, nougats, chocolate candies and caramels! ATalliance of gingerbread, tangy dried fruit confit, lemon mousseline cream…

The price : 250 € for 8 people.

Where is it found? On order between December 13 and 25 at the Royal Monceau. 01 42 99 88 00


The frozen log of Hugo & Victor

Tastes : Under its almond dacquoise, this frozen log is garnished with a mango sorbet with sweet spices. Bourbon vanilla ice cream and mango marmalade in jelly. All topped with meringue sticks. Welcome exotic notes, which will quickly warm our palate!

The price : €35 for 4 people, €55 for 6 people.

Where is it found? At Hugo & Victor, 40 Boulevard Raspail, 75007 Paris. From December 1 to January 5, 2020.

The original alternative? This season, thehe house has teamed up with Kaviari and offers the “Bûche K by Hugues Pouget”. Round like a box of caviar, this dessert wins the prize for the most atypical yule log!
