For its reopening, the Carnavalet Museum – History of Paris offers a cross-section of Paris: two parallel exhibitions of photos by Eugène Atget and those of his colleague, Henri Cartier-Bresson.

This is an exhibition that should delight lovers of the city and other historians. From June 15 to October 31, 2021, the Carnavalet museum exhibits the photos ofE et Henri Cartier-Bresson, two great photographers of the XNUMXth century. The latter has captured the life of Parisians during the great moments of history but also the small details and other daily hassles. Before him, Eugène Atget immortalized every street in Paris, thus producing precise and very practical documentation for the artists of his time. Together, they took a new look at the French capital.

For these two exhibitions presented in smilutane, the Carnavalet museum highlights original photographs by Eugène Atget and Henri Cartier-Bresson, from his own collections. A few pieces are, however, loaned by the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson

In addition to this fascinating double exposure, you can also admire the 4 works of art (paintings, photographs, sculptures, furniture, etc.) permanently exhibited in this historic building in the Marais. Don't forget to pop into its pretty garden!
