For the start of the 2021 school year, the Louvre Museum offers a magnificent leap in time through a journey from Paris to Athens, to discover modern Greece... A fascinating exhibition that celebrates the bicentenary of Greek independence.

That should extend the summer a bit! From September 30 to February 7, 2022, the famous Louvre Museum is organizing a superb exhibition to celebrate the bicentenary of theindependence from Greece. Baptized " Paris – Athens, birth of modern Greece », this one brings together a large number of works combining paintings, sculptures, photographs, archeology and other costumes… So many elements reflecting the identity of this country with such a rich culture.

Exhibited in the Napoleon hall of the museum, these works make us rediscover the history of present-day Greece. Since 1821 - when the Greek people rebelled and rejected Ottoman tutelage until gaining their independence – until today, we admire over the exhibition, the evolution of this country and its civilization.

Take advantage of your visit to admire a jewel on display at the Louvre since the same date: The Venus de Milo, offered to France… By Greece!
