"Gold les Ors by Yves Saint Laurent » at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum

From October 14, 2022 to May 14, 2023, the Yves Saint Laurent Paris Museum is hosting an exhibition focused on the hour. The opportunity to rediscover this symbolic color through the creations and memories of the legendary couturier.

After having cut his teeth with the great Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent presents his first eponymous collection on 29th January 1962. It was the start of an incredible career that the 26-year-old fashion designer was far from imagining! Breaking the codes of femininity, it continues to inspire 60 years later... An important anniversary that will be celebrated with great fanfare with this anniversary exhibition at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.

For this exhibition, the Parisian museum highlights a key element of the couturier's work: gold. From the first buttons he used to dress up his peacoats to entirely golden dresses, none of his collections have escaped this! This “magic shade” is an integral part of the designer's creative palette. And for good reason, all materials lend themselves to these sparkles: brocade, lace, lamé, sequins, leather, embroidery... Gold illuminates the darkest fabrics and colors with a touch of chic. This burst of brilliance, sometimes discreet, sometimes flamboyant, Yves Saint Laurent has made it his signature.

In total, you can discover around forty haute couture and ready-to-wear dresses, as well as objects collected by Pierre Bergé and brought back from Oran or Marrakech by Yves Saint Laurent, or accessories created by Loulou of the Cliff. Among them, the jeweled dress made for her fall-winter 1966-1967 collection, looks worn by Catherine Deneuve...

This exhibition promises a leap into the couturier's sunny memories...

Or : 5 Avenue Marceau, 75116 Paris.
When : From October 14, 2022 to May 14, 2023.
