The Palais Galliera<\/strong>, Mus\u00e9e de la Mode de Paris, is devoting an exhibition to Stephen Jones<\/strong>.\nRevealing the work of this British designer, from his beginnings in the 1980s to his most recent collections.\nFor the first time in over forty years, an accessory – the hat – is highlighted in this emblematic venue, elevated to the status of a work of art.\nThe exhibition highlights Stephen Jones’ creative process, his inspirations and his intimate relationship with Paris. <\/p>\n\n

Born near Liverpool in 1957<\/em>, Stephen Jones trained at Saint Martin’s School of Art.\nHe opened his first store in London in 1980<\/em> and quickly became a leading figure in the “New Romantics” movement.\nHis early designs attracted the attention of influential<\/strong> music personalities<\/strong> such as Boy George, and marked his debut in the world of fashion.\nHis collaborations with prestigious houses such as Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and Louis Vuitton cemented his reputation.\nMaking him a key player behind the scenes of haute couture. <\/p>\n\n

The exhibition features nearly 400 works<\/strong>, including over 170 hats from the milliner’s personal archives.\nAs well as some forty complete silhouettes.\nThese pieces testify to Stephen Jones’ loyalty to the major fashion houses, in particular Christian Dior, with whom he has collaborated for over twenty-five years.\nStephen Jones has become the most “Frenchy” of English milliners, infusing Parisian fashion with a touch of daring creativity. <\/p>\n\n
