The LVMH group has just announced the appointment of Sarah Burton as Givenchy’s new Artistic Director.\nThis decision marks a major turning point for the famous fashion house. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Last January, Matthew Williams<\/strong> left Givenchy after a 3-year collaboration to devote himself fully to his own brand: 1017 ALYX 9SM.\nWith his departure, the house belonging to the LVMH group<\/strong> found itself in search of a new artistic inspiration.\nAnd in the end, Sarah Burton<\/strong>, former Artistic Director ofAlexander McQueen<\/strong>, was chosen to take up the challenge!\nSarah Burton, who spent more than twenty years with McQueen, isa key figure in the fashion world. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

In succeeding Matthew Williams, she marks a return to a more elegant<\/strong> and refined vision<\/strong> of fashion, while adding her own personal touch.\nHer appointment also reflects a desire to reaffirm <\/strong>Givenchy<\/a> ‘s historic identity <\/strong>. “It is a great honor for me to join this magnificent house that is Givenchy. Sarah Burton, a graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design<\/strong>, began her career at Alexander McQueen in 1997<\/strong>.\nInitially an assistant to the eponymous designer, she quickly rose through the ranks to become Creative Director in 2010, following the designer’s tragic death<\/strong>.\nDuring her 13 years at the helm of McQueen<\/strong>, she preserved the master’s legacy by establishing her own trademark, characterized by precise cuts, romantic audacity<\/strong> and unrivalled attention to detail. <\/p>\n\n
