French national team defender Jules Kound\u00e9 never goes unnoticed, and this week at Clairefontaine he caused another sensation. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On November 11, he arrived wearing a simple blue tracksuit in the colors of the French national team and black pants, abandoning the exuberant outfits that have earned him criticism. This sobriety, for once, seems to be an ironic response to those who judge his style. <\/p>\n\n

Kound\u00e9 has often been criticized for his atypical outfits, inspired by the NBA’s “tunnel fits”<\/em>, a phenomenon he introduced to France and which is now nicknamed the “Clairefontaine walk”.<\/em> Some media outlets have even dubbed Clairefontaine a “theater of unhinged links between fashion and soccer”,<\/em> in reaction to the daring clothing choices of certain players. Ibrahima Konat\u00e9, for example, recently caused a stir when he arrived in a green Kenzo balaclava, triggering an avalanche of comments on social networks. <\/p>\n\n
