With five trophies, Sean Baker’s Anora<\/em> is the big winner at the 2025 Oscars, while Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em> shines in music and Zoe Salda\u00f1a takes a moving victory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

At the 2025 Oscars, Sean Baker<\/strong>‘s Anora<\/strong> won five statuettes<\/strong> out of six nominations<\/strong>. The drama, which already won the Palme d’Or at Cannes<\/strong>, won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Mikey Madison), Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing<\/strong>. The only fly in the ointment was that the trophy for Best Supporting Actor<\/strong> went to Kieran Culkin<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Confirmed favourites and a few surprises<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

While Anora<\/em> crushed the competition, a number of other films also came out on top. Adrien Brody<\/strong> won Best Actor<\/strong> for his role in The Brutalist<\/em>, confirming predictions despite the controversy surrounding artificial intelligence in the film. The film also took home the Oscar for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n
