Rolex gives itself a Hollywood icon. The Swiss watchmaker has officially announced that Leonardo DiCaprio has become one of its “testimonials”, joining a very closed circle alongside Roger Federer, Tiger Woods and James Cameron. A choice that goes far beyond the cinema, as the Oscar-winning actor is also a fervent defender of the environment. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Rolex and DiCaprio: a meeting of prestige and commitment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Known for his starring roles in Titanic<\/em>, The Departed<\/em> and The Wolf of Wall Street<\/em>, Leonardo DiCaprio is no stranger to the world of watchmaking<\/strong>. A former Tag Heuer<\/strong> ambassador, he has long been interested in the values of sustainability<\/strong>, and has even invested in the Swiss brand ID Gen\u00e8ve<\/strong>, which specializes in eco-responsible watches. <\/p>\n\n

With this collaboration, Rolex is not only signing a film star, but also a committed man<\/strong>. On its official page, the company highlights his actions for the planet: “Off screen, he is just as committed to the fight against global warming and the preservation of the environment.”<\/em> <\/p>\n\n

An ambassador committed to responsible watchmaking<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Since 1998<\/strong>, DiCaprio has put his influence at the service of the planet by creating a foundation that funds over 35 ecological projects<\/strong> worldwide. A messenger of peace for the United Nations<\/strong>, he has produced several climate-related documentaries and supported initiatives in favor of ocean conservation, sustainable alternatives to meat and laboratory diamonds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
