Following the success of\u00c9t\u00e9 85<\/em>, Benjamin Voisin and Fran\u00e7ois Ozon reunite for a major project: the adaptation of Albert Camus’s legendary novel L’\u00c9tranger<\/em>. The role promises to be a major turning point in the career of the C\u00e9sar-winning actor. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

A duo reunites for a major challenge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

At the age of 23<\/strong>, Benjamin Voisin<\/strong> has already played a number of key roles in French cinema. Revealed in 2020 by Fran\u00e7ois Ozon<\/strong>, he made a name for himself with his subtle, intense acting, notably in Xavier Giannoli<\/strong>‘s Illusions Perdues<\/em>, which won him a C\u00e9sar for Best New Male Actor<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Today, he tackles a literary masterpiece<\/strong>, L’\u00c9tranger<\/em>, a novel whose reach extends beyond France’s borders. The third most widely read French-language novel in the world, after Le Petit Prince<\/em> and Vingt Mille Lieues sous les mers<\/em>, it explores the absurd and human indifference<\/strong> through the emblematic character of Meursault<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

An absurd film adaptation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Fran\u00e7ois Ozon<\/strong>, renowned for his ability to sublimate profound and disturbing stories, tackles a text that Albert Camus himself refused to adapt during his lifetime<\/strong>. After Luchino Visconti<\/strong> and Marcello Mastroianni<\/strong> in 1967, it’s now up to the French director to translate Camusian philosophy onto the big screen<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n
