He prefers the <strong>second hand<\/strong>, raw style and <strong>hijacked rock wardrobes<\/strong>, and dreams of recreating <strong>the spirit of musical thrift stores<\/strong> through his collections. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Anti-brand turned international cult<\/h2>\n\n<p>Before <strong>Bape<\/strong> or <strong>Undercover<\/strong>, Hysteric Glamour was a pioneer of <strong>rebellious, provocative Japanese streetwear<\/strong>, born in the back alleys of<strong>Harajuku<\/strong>. But it was in <strong>New York and London<\/strong>, in the late 1980s, that the brand began to shine. <strong>Kurt Cobain<\/strong> himself wore a Sonic Youth T-shirt designed by Kitamura for <strong>Kim Gordon<\/strong>, a fervent admirer of the label. <\/p>\n\n<p>Behind its pop slogans, outrageous visuals and unisex silhouettes, the brand cultivates an <strong>underground, artistic aura<\/strong>, with cutting-edge collaborations &#8211; from <strong>Supreme<\/strong> to <strong>Kiko Kostadinov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">An intergenerational aesthetic that stands the test of time<\/h2>\n\n<p>Today, <strong>Gen Z<\/strong> is still appropriating Hysteric Glamour pieces, while cohabiting with the faithful from the early days. <strong>The same wardrobe for radically different generations<\/strong>, who share a passion for <strong>graphic insolence, heavy cotton and straightforward cuts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>To mark its 40th anniversary, Kitamura is planning an <strong>original scrapbook<\/strong>, a visual testimony to an adventure in which clothing becomes <strong>language and manifesto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">More of a designer than an entrepreneur<\/h2>\n\n<p>Unlike many founders, Kitamura refuses to talk about a &#8220;company&#8221;.
