From Place Vend\u00f4me to Madonna: an icon is born<\/h2>\n\n

Designed in 1980<\/em> by Mich\u00e8le Kanoui<\/strong>, the Panth\u00e8re takes its name from its supple strap<\/strong>, evoking the graceful gait of the famous feline. Derived from the Santos<\/strong> – the first wristwatch in history (1904) – it quickly became a worldwide success. <\/p>\n\n

In the 1980s and 90s<\/em>, it adorned the wrists of Princess Diana<\/strong>, Madonna<\/strong>, Gwyneth Paltrow<\/strong> and Jane Fonda<\/strong>. Why this craze? Discreet, precious yet powerful<\/strong>, it embodies a new femininity, free and assertive. <\/p>\n\n
