What if jewelry could slow down time? That’s the (successful) gamble of Belgian label Wouters & Hendrix, which this spring collaborated with model Hannelore Knuts to launch an object halfway between jewelry and meditation: a scented ring, christened L’Issence<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

A sensory capsule born in Antwerp<\/h2>\n\n

Antwerp-based<\/em> Wouters & Hendrix<\/strong> has been astonishing people with its surreal, handcrafted creations since 1984<\/em>. With this new ring, they’ve taken the olfactory and goldsmithing<\/strong> worlds to a new level. The concept? To create a jewel that doesn’t just shine, but invites you to breathe<\/strong>, to slow down, to feel. In short: an anchor in the hollow of your finger<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

For Hannelore Knuts<\/strong>, who became a mindfulness teacher after an impressive career (from Prada<\/em> to Versace<\/em>), this project is an extension of her life philosophy: live each moment with awareness.<\/p>\n\n

L’Issence: when jewelry becomes ritual<\/h2>\n\n

Available in a limited edition<\/strong>, the L’Issence<\/em> ring comes in two versions: gold-plated<\/strong>, with Pierre de Soleil<\/em> and cordierite<\/em>, or silver-plated<\/strong>, with labradorite<\/em> and cordierite<\/em> .<\/em> <\/p>\n\n

But the heart of the innovation lies in a discreet mechanism<\/strong> containing a blend of essential oils<\/strong> developed with Bioflore<\/em>. The composition – neroli, rhododendron, ylang-ylang<\/em> – diffuses a calming, enveloping<\/strong> scent, designed to accompany breathing and invite presence. <\/p>\n\n

A jewel that soothes<\/strong> as much as it dresses. The technical challenge was an ambitious one, as Katrin Wouters<\/strong> points out: “How on earth do you design a scented ring?”<\/em> A challenge brilliantly met. <\/p>\n\n
