Since its inauguration in 1862<\/em>, at the same time as the neighboring Grand H\u00f4tel<\/strong>, the Caf\u00e9 de la Paix<\/strong> has established itself as one of the capital’s most prestigious addresses. Located on the corner of Boulevard des Capucines<\/strong> and Place de l’Op\u00e9ra<\/strong>, it has welcomed writers, dancers and actors, from Victor Hugo<\/strong> to Serge Lifar<\/strong> and Hemingway<\/strong>. Listed as a historical monument, its Napoleon III<\/strong> decor, restored by Pierre-Yves Rochon<\/strong>, immediately immerses you in the refined atmosphere of the Belle \u00c9poque. <\/p>\n\n

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of its historic neighbor, the Palais Garnier<\/strong>, Caf\u00e9 de la Paix unveils an exclusive creation:Op\u00e9ra glac\u00e9<\/strong>. Inspired by the iconic cake, this dessert takes its original structure and adds a touch of summer freshness. <\/p>\n\n

The recipe combines a soft chocolate sponge cake soaked in coffee syrup<\/strong>, layers of chocolate ice cream<\/strong>, a scoop of coffee ice cream<\/strong>, a gourmet crunch and, as a finishing touch, a piece of chocolate marbled<\/strong> in the house colors. To be enjoyed on a terrace bathed in light, or as a sweet treat after lunch, this ice cream variation is priced at \u20ac16<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n
