This autumn, Paris is home to an exceptional duo. The Galerie Dior and the Fondation Azzedine Ala\u00efa have joined forces to present a double exhibition revealing an artistic and historical link that has been little explored: that between Christian Dior and Azzedine Ala\u00efa. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Dior through Ala\u00efa’s eyes<\/h2>\n\n

Azzedine Ala\u00efa, an admiring disciple, has cultivated a secret passion for Dior all his life. Hired for a few days at Dior in 1956, he was marked by the demanding nature of theAvenue Montaigne<\/strong> workshops, a memory he maintained throughout his career. Later, he became a collector. Among his thousands of haute couture pieces, around 600 Dior creations<\/strong> are in his personal collection, including those from the houses run after Dior by Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, John Galliano and Gianfranco Ferr\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n

The first part of this dialogue will take place from November 20, 2025 to May 3, 2026<\/strong> at the Galerie Dior, located on the prestigious Avenue Montaigne. On display will be a selection of over a hundred Dior pieces from the Ala\u00efa archives, never before shown publicly. <\/p>\n\n

From December 1 to May 3, 2026<\/strong>, the Fondation Ala\u00efa in the Marais district of Paris will be staging its own version of the exhibition. Called Ala\u00efa et Christian Dior, deux ma\u00eetres de la couture<\/em>, it will feature around 30 Dior outfits collected by Ala\u00efa and as many creations by the couturier himself. The exhibition is curated by historian Olivier Saillard<\/strong>, with the assistance of Ga\u00ebl Mamine<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The aim is to show how the New Look<\/strong>, launched by Christian Dior in 1947, influenced Ala\u00efa’s world of sensibility, particularly in his obsession with volumes, petticoats and load-bearing structures. The exhibition highlights these aesthetic and conceptual correspondences that span the decades. <\/p>\n\n
