Rouge opened its doors on avenue de Suffren with a simple promise: a cuisine of flame, flesh and comfort. Neither a bistro nor a brasserie, the place is almost sensual and confidential, designed for tasting a fine piece of meat. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The house is dedicated to Aveyron meats, selected by the two owners Pierre-Jean Borrel and Vincent Bonnenfant (one from Loz\u00e8re, the other from Aveyron).<\/p>\n\n

In the kitchen is Casablanca-born Yahya El Azaar, who has worked at La Dame de Pic (Anne-Sophie Pic), L’Abysse (Yannick All\u00e9no), L’Oiseau Blanc (David Bizet, Peninsula) and Madame Brasserie (Thierry Marx). <\/p>\n\n

For starters, order the p\u00e2t\u00e9 en croute to whet your appetite, straight from Maison Conquet (Aveyron). Don’t forget to take a look at the short but effective wine list. Tataki, tournedos and burgers, beef is the star of the menu. Hungry diners can look forward to sharing dishes such as lamb shoulder or the Plateau Signature Rouge, an assortment of selected meats. Not in the mood for red meat? Don’t panic, the chef offers excellent pork ribs or a roast chicken worthy of Sunday chicken. Dessert? We’re happy to indulge in cheese by the slice or a generous rum baba. <\/p>\n\n

What do we like?<\/strong> The 70s steakhouse decor and the cocktails (so old fashioned).<\/p>\n\n
