This unique venue is distinguished by its complete mosaic covering. Fifteen tons of earthenware<\/strong> cover the walls, floor, ceiling and even the garden. A variety of motifs adorn each surface, blending common images with biblical representations. Filled with color<\/a>, symbolism and originality, this historic monument invites contemplation. <\/p>\n

What’s most surprising is the origin of this work. One man, Raymond Isidore<\/strong>, shaped his house piece by piece. For 33 years<\/strong><\/a>he worked tirelessly with the sole aim of welcoming his family. His obsession with mosaics led him to decorate even his wife’s sewing machine. <\/p>\n

A journey marked by a miracle at Chartres Cathedral<\/h3>\n

Born into a modest family, Raymond Isidore was blind until the age of 10<\/strong>. Then one day, in the middle of a mass, the child saw light shining through the stained glass windows of Chartres Cathedral<\/a>. This miracle enabled him to start working and build his life. <\/p>\n

He then married Adrienne<\/strong>, 11 years his senior, a widow with three children. From then on, Raymond dreamed of independence with his new family. In 1930<\/strong>, he bought a plot of land on which to build a house. Little by little, without really knowing why, he began collecting pieces of glass he found along the way. <\/p>\n
