We often think of the world’s best theme parks as being in the USA or Asia. But Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards have just sprung a surprise. In 2026<\/a>, a French site took first place worldwide in the theme parks and water parks category. <\/p>\n

Futuroscope named world’s best theme park<\/h2>\n

The ranking is based on millions of opinions left by visitors from all over the world. Le Futuroscope, in the Vienne region of France, came in ahead of last year’s winner, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Giants such as Beto Carrero World in Brazil and Waterbom Bali<\/a> in Indonesia also feature in the ranking. <\/p>\n

Even more surprisingly, this French theme park comes in ahead of Disneyland Paris<\/a>, ranked 4\u1d49,<\/strong> and Puy du Fou, in 7\u1d49<\/strong> position. These two hexagonal references are thus overtaken by Futuroscope. A consecration for this site, which has existed since the late 1980s. <\/p>\n

Its model differs from classic roller-coaster parks. Here, it’s all about immersion, technology and special effects<\/a>. Giant projections and interactive attractions form the core of the experience for families. <\/p>\n

    This attraction combines a ride on rails with an aquatic section, thanks to innovative technology. Meanwhile, “Kin\u00e9’Eau” delights the youngest visitors with its mysterious cavern. A 270-degree screen surrounds them as the stars scroll by. <\/p>\n

    Futuroscope is all about diversity of experience. Families can move from a technological attraction to an aquatic area without leaving the site. This versatility partly explains its success with travelers from all over the world. <\/p>\n

    Extraordinary catering and night-time entertainment<\/h3>\n

    Beyond the attractions, this theme park pays attention to every detail. The “Space Loop” restaurant offers a unique culinary experience. Dishes ordered are transported through the restaurant on a system of rails, before arriving hot at the table. <\/p>\n
