Paris<\/a> abounds in architectural treasures, but many require an entrance ticket or long queues. However, in June 2026, one of the capital’s most beautiful monuments<\/strong> will open its doors free of charge. A rare opportunity to enter this historic site without paying a cent. <\/p>\n

The Pantheon welcomes an illustrious new resident<\/h2>\n

In October 2025, Robert Badinter, a major figure in the fight against capital punishment, became the Panth\u00e9on’s last resident. Now, the monument<\/strong> is preparing to honor another exceptional personality. Marc Bloch, French historian and Resistance fighter, will be inducted on June 23<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

This scientist was arrested, tortured and executed by the Gestapo on June 16, 1944<\/strong> because he was Jewish. His courage and commitment to France<\/a> have earned him national recognition. A ceremony will be organized to highlight his actions during the war, as well as his qualities as a distinguished historian. <\/p>\n

“For his work, his teaching and his courage, Marc Bloch will enter the Pantheon.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Illustrious figures under one roof<\/h3>\n

Marc Bloch will join men and women who have left their mark on French history. Among them are Jos\u00e9phine Baker, Victor Hugo, Marie Curie and \u00c9mile Zola. Many members of the French Resistance are also buried in this monument<\/a><\/strong>including Missak Manouchian, Genevi\u00e8ve de Gaulle-Anthonioz and Jean Moulin. <\/p>\n

This sumptuous building, just a stone’s throw from the Sorbonne, is home to a wide variety of personalities. Each has contributed to shaping the nation through his or her actions, writings or sacrifice. The pantheonization of Marc Bloch is part of this long tradition of recognition. <\/p>\n
