This Sunday, June 28, 2026<\/strong>, Metro Line 13<\/strong> will once again be completely closed for several hours. If you plan to take it this morning, you should come up with a Plan B<\/a> right away. <\/p>\n

Paris’s Most Hated Line Strikes Again<\/h2>\n

Metro Line 13<\/strong> has a well-established reputation: that of the capital\u2019s<\/a> most dreaded line. Between repeated technical problems, crowded cars, and constant delays, some riders would rather make four transfers than take it\u2014even for just five minutes. <\/p>\n

However, these repeated disruptions are not without reason. The ongoing work is intended to modernize the line<\/a> and, ultimately, provide a more reliable and pleasant service. So we\u2019ll just have to grit our teeth and keep the reward in mind. <\/p>\n

This Sunday<\/a>, passengers will face another complete closure. The disruption will affect the entire route, from the start of service until noon. <\/p>\n

What the RATP Plans to Do in Practice<\/h3>\n

The line will be completely closed along its entire length<\/strong>, from the start of service until 12:00 p.m.<\/strong> No transfers will be available during this time. <\/p>\n

A replacement bus service will be provided, but only between the Asni\u00e8res-Gennevilliers-Les Courtilles<\/strong> and Porte de Clichy<\/strong> stations. For the rest of the route, passengers will need to be creative and make use of the other available bus and metro lines. <\/p>\n

Why do these construction projects disrupt daily life so much?<\/h2>\n

These construction projects are part of an effort to modernize Metro Line 13<\/strong>. The goal is to prepare for the arrival of new trains, the MF19s<\/strong>, which are set to replace the current trains. This is how the RATP explains these repeated closures since the beginning of the year. <\/p>\n

However, many riders see these disruptions as yet another hardship. The line is already known for its problems, and every additional closure only reinforces this shared sense of frustration. <\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s worth noting that this closure on June 28<\/strong> will be the last one on a Sunday for a while. No other weekends will be affected until August 2<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    While this Sunday closure seems to mark a welcome break, the summer of 2026 has other service disruptions in store for Metro Line 13<\/strong>. Partial closures are already scheduled to take place over several weeks. <\/p>\n

    From July 6 to 26<\/strong>, the section between Ch\u00e2tillon – Montrouge<\/strong> and Malakoff – Rue \u00c9tienne Dolet<\/strong> will be affected. Then, from July 31 to August 17<\/strong>, the section between Saint-Denis – Universit\u00e9<\/strong> and La Fourche<\/strong> will be affected. <\/p>\n

    How to Stay Organized to Avoid Hassles<\/h2>\n

    In light of these disruptions, planning ahead remains the best strategy. This Sunday morning, we recommend checking the alternative bus and subway routes available for your trip before you leave. <\/p>\n

    The replacement bus service covers only the northern section between Asni\u00e8res-Gennevilliers-Les Courtilles<\/strong> and Porte de Clichy<\/strong>. For the other sections of Metro Line 13<\/strong>, the RATP has not announced any direct alternative service. <\/p>\n

    In addition, the announced summer closures will affect different sections depending on the week.
