Paris<\/a> has hundreds of places to enjoy a good pizza, and yet the region\u2019s best pizza isn\u2019t necessarily found where you\u2019d expect. The 50 Top Pizza Europa 2026<\/strong> ranking has just been released, and the verdict holds a pleasant geographical surprise for lovers of this Italian dish. <\/p>\n

Paris, European Pizza Capital in 2026<\/h2>\n

Of the 200 restaurants recognized<\/strong> by 50 Top Pizza Europa this year, Paris stands out as the city with the most representatives on the continent. The French capital is home to 17 award-winning establishments<\/strong>, ahead of London with 15 and Madrid with 9. It\u2019s an unofficial but telling title: Paris is indeed the European capital of pizza in 2026<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The ranking has also been expanded this year. It now includes 60 winners in the main list<\/strong>, along with 140 establishments designated as \u201cexcellent<\/strong>, \u201d<\/strong> for a total of 200 distinguished venues across Europe. A total of 28 countries<\/strong> have at least one of their restaurants<\/a> recognized. <\/p>\n

France, for its part, ranks as the second-most-awarded country behind Spain<\/strong>. Five French restaurants appear at the top of the rankings, and all are located in Paris or the Paris region<\/a>. This is therefore an impressive collective achievement for a country that isn\u2019t in the same league as Italy\u2014the birthplace of pizza, which has its own separate ranking. <\/p>\n

Why Italy Is in a League of Its Own<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s important to note one key point: Italy does not appear in this European ranking. In fact, the home of pizza has its own ranking, separate from the rest of the continent. As a result, French restaurants are not directly compared to Neapolitan or Roman pizzerias. <\/p>\n

This in no way diminishes Paris\u2019s performance. Compared to other European nations, France more than holds its own. The experts at 50 Top Pizza Europa have included five French restaurants in the main ranking<\/strong>, all located in the Paris metropolitan area. <\/p>\n

The place to remember: Imperfetto, just outside Paris<\/h2>\n

The 2026 rankings were just announced in Puteaux<\/strong>, in the Hauts-de-Seine department. It is there, in this part of the 92\u2014just a short metro ride away\u2014that the best pizza in France, according to the rankings<\/strong>, can be found. The Imperfetto pizzeria has moved up two spots from the previous edition and has thus secured a place among the continent\u2019s very best restaurants. <\/p>\n

    Imperfetto has thus managed to rank among the very best pizzerias in Europe, outside of Italy. This is a significant improvement over the 2025 rankings and sends a strong signal to the entire Paris region\u2019s culinary scene. <\/p>\n

    Parisian venues climbing the rankings<\/h3>\n

    In addition to Imperfetto, several Parisian restaurants are also climbing the rankings. Oobatz, in the 11th arrondissement, moves up six spots<\/strong> to 23rd place. Roco, ranked in the 17th arrondissement on the list, takes 24th place, right behind it. <\/p>\n

    Manifattura and Fimmina round out the French rankings, in 35th and 42nd place, respectively. These two establishments thus underscore the breadth and quality of the selection in the capital. <\/p>\n

    A list of “excellent” restaurants so you’ll never run out of great places to eat<\/h2>\n

    For those who can\u2019t manage to secure a table at these five highly sought-after spots, the 2026 rankings offer a solid alternative. Many Parisian pizzerias have earned the \u201cexcellent\u201d rating, which is already a significant endorsement from the experts. <\/p>\n

    Among these certified restaurants in Paris are Anima, Bobby, Civetta, Da Valentina, Dalmata, Daroco, Faggio, Fratelli Castellano, Guillaume Grasso, La Vittoria, Pizza Viva, Prima, and Iovine’s. These are all names to keep in mind for your next pizza cravings, whether during the week or on the weekend. <\/p>\n

    With such a concentration of award-winning restaurants, Paris confirms that its culinary scene isn\u2019t limited to Michelin stars.
