Rather than gathering the audience in a single room, this evening invites guests to move from one space to the next as the performances unfold. The journey begins on the ground floor, in the hushed atmosphere of the Bar des Maillets d’Argent. It is here that Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Chatoux<\/strong>, solo flautist at the Op\u00e9ra national de Paris, and Agn\u00e8s Cr\u00e9pel<\/strong>, violinist at the Op\u00e9ra de Paris, open the evening with melodies drawn from Mozart’s The Magic Flute<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The group then moves up to the Appartement d’Augusta, a more intimate setting where Pierre Lenert<\/strong>, principal viola at the Op\u00e9ra de Paris, joins C\u00e9cile Lenert<\/strong> for a programme for two violas. On the bill at this stage: Harold Arlen’s Over the Rainbow<\/a><\/em>, Jules Massenet’s M\u00e9lodie des Erinnyes and L’Hymne \u00e0 l’amour. The contrast between the warmth of the repertoire and the domestic feel of the space only deepens the singular quality of the experience.<\/p>\n

Finally, the journey ends on the Toit de la Tour, on the 7th floor<\/strong>, with a panoramic view over Paris<\/a> and the Seine from the quai de la Tournelle. All the musicians then gather on this rooftop terrace to close the evening with Fran\u00e7ois Borne’s Fantaisie sur Carmen and Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango.<\/p>\n
