Imagine a room where gravity seems to have given up, a corridor that throws you off balance, or a mirror that copies your every move without ever letting you catch your own reflection. The Paradox Museum Paris<\/a><\/strong>, nestled in the 9th arrondissement near the Grands Boulevards, has just expanded with 5 new immersive experiences<\/strong> and a gourmet caf\u00e9<\/a> that is worth the trip all on its own.<\/p>\n

A gourmet caf\u00e9 to extend your visit to the Paradox Museum Paris<\/h2>\n

Before we even get to the illusions, one new addition is already turning heads among food lovers. Hans & Gretel<\/strong>, a caf\u00e9 inspired by the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale, has opened its doors<\/a> inside the museum<\/a>. Sweets, waffles, artisan ice cream, decadent doughnuts: the menu is as generous as the d\u00e9cor is enchanting. Good news for those who have no plans to visit the museum itself: the caf\u00e9 has its own entrance and is freely accessible without a ticket.<\/p>\n

What started as a pop-up has now become permanent. Sweet-toothed visitors of all ages can drop in at any time, whether before, after, or entirely independently of the immersive trail.<\/p>\n

The 5 new installations pushing the boundaries of perception<\/h2>\n

The museum already boasted more than 90 interactive illusions<\/strong> across 1,700 m\u00b2<\/strong> spread over 3 floors<\/strong>. These five additions make an already rich experience even denser, with some concepts that are entirely new to France.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Zero Gravity Room<\/strong>: a sci-fi-inspired setting that gives you the sensation of floating like an astronaut, an exclusive experience in France.<\/li>\n
  • Water Paradox<\/strong>: water droplets appear to flow upwards against the current, thanks to a strobe lighting effect that fools the eye.<\/li>\n
  • Butterflies<\/strong>: a ballet of butterfly shadows comes to life through shifting light, in a poetic atmosphere suspended between dream and illusion.<\/li>\n
  • Red & Blue Room<\/strong>: artist Insane51 creates a living kaleidoscope where colours intertwine to form 3D visual illusions.<\/li>\n
  • Seesaw Paradox<\/strong>: two people seesaw on either side of a mirror, synchronising their movements without ever meeting, an installation that questions the boundary between the real and the illusory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    These five experiences join well-established favourites such as the Ames Room<\/strong>, the Paradox Tunnel<\/strong> and the Reversed Room<\/strong>. What’s more, over a dozen installations remain exclusive to Paris and exist nowhere else, not in Oslo, not in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

    What the experience actually offers visitors<\/h2>\n

    The visit takes around 1h30<\/strong>, though there is nothing stopping you from lingering longer. The museum lends itself particularly well to photography: every room is designed to produce surreal shots worth sharing. A code-operated cloakroom lets you stow coats and bags, making it much easier to get the perfect picture. It is also worth charging your devices before you arrive and bringing a portable battery.<\/p>\n

    Visitor numbers on the trail are capped, so booking online in advance is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment at the door. It is a small practical detail that makes a real difference: fewer people means more freedom to enjoy each installation at your own pace.<\/p>\n

    Midnight Paradox evenings: a whole other way to experience the museum<\/h2>\n

    The Paradox Museum Paris<\/strong> also hosts late-night events called Midnight Paradox<\/strong>. Once a month, the museum opens from 7:30 pm to midnight<\/strong>, with last entry at 10 pm. The atmosphere shifts entirely: after dark, the illusions take on a more magical, more intimate quality.<\/p>\n

    From Saturday 30 May<\/strong>, these evening sessions become even more frequent, running every other Saturday<\/strong>. Hypnotists, magicians and live performers are on hand to deepen the experience. It is, in short, a version of the museum that no daytime visit can quite prepare you for.<\/p>\n
