Five designers, five radically different worlds, and one retailer to bring them all together: Monoprix makes a bold statement with the second edition of its design collection<\/a>, turning everyday objects into genuine aesthetic declarations. Furniture, lighting, tableware and accessories<\/a> become concrete ways to inject personality into your living spaces.<\/p>\n

Influences that travel, from Brazil to the Balkans<\/h2>\n

Among the five selected designers, some draw their inspiration from far beyond Paris. Doroth\u00e9e Delaye, for instance, looked to Rio de Janeiro in the 1960s and 1970s to build her collection, titled Aura Tropicale<\/strong>. She channels the fluidity of bossa nova and the light of the Brazilian coastline, setting wood in conversation with coloured glass paste. The result is both warm and rooted in a contemporary sensibility<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Virginie Friedmann and Delphine Versace, founders of studio Friedmann & Versace<\/strong> in 2019, meanwhile conceived a collection dedicated to the art of entertaining<\/a>. Their approach blends the warmth of a Slavic dacha with the flamboyance of the Balkans. Hand-painted wood, colourful embroidery, and Ottoman and Byzantine motifs appear on cushions, candles, ceramics and lighting. It is a sensory journey you can now place on a table or hang on a wall.<\/p>\n

Paris and Japan make their way into the Monoprix collection<\/h2>\n

Other designers chose to look closer to home. Interior architect and designer Marion Mailaender dived into her own studio’s archives to extract familiar forms. Her series Jardin Public<\/strong> draws directly from the ironwork gates of Parisian gardens, which she transposes into coffee tables and graphic light fixtures. The chosen palette, black and white punctuated with bold colours, reinforces the urban, confident character of the whole.<\/p>\n

Japanese designer Ryuichi Kozeki<\/strong> builds his proposition around a dialogue between the organic curves of wood and a minimalist structure. What strikes you first about his pieces is how naturally they invite use. But look at them a little longer, and a genuine poetry of form reveals itself. This is precisely the kind of object that enriches an interior without cluttering it.<\/p>\n

L\u00e9a Zeroil and the call of natural materials<\/h2>\n

L\u00e9a Zeroil rounds out the selection with a collection conceived as a moment of escape. Her creative vocabulary summons shells, latticework, scrolls and patterns traced in sand. The Primo<\/strong> stool, reinterpreted here in rattan, captures this approach perfectly: natural materials paired with luminous finishes, for an object that evokes faraway places without you ever leaving the living room.<\/p>\n

This second edition of Monoprix’s design collection deliberately plays on the diversity of approaches rather than a unified aesthetic. Each designer brings their own visual language, giving the whole an unusual richness for a mass-market collection.<\/p>\n

Where and when to find the collection<\/h2>\n

For design enthusiasts who want to discover the pieces ahead of the general release, a pop-up is being held at l’Espace Commines, 17 rue des Commines, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris<\/strong>. Doors open from 9 to 12 December, 10:30 am to 8:00 pm<\/strong>, then on 13 December from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm<\/strong>. It is a chance to see the objects in person, feel the materials and appreciate the care put into each piece.<\/p>\n
