Guerlain and Hennessy combine their expertise
When haute parfumerie meets the art of cognac, the result defies the senses. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of its emblematic Habit Rouge fragrance, Guerlain has teamed up with Hennessy for a new, intense, woody edition: Habit Rouge Spirit.
A perfume aged like a grand cru
Launched in 1965, Habit Rouge went down in history as Guerlain’s first amber fragrance for men. Its warm, sensual, leathery trail evokes the equestrian world so dear to Jean-Paul Guerlain. In 2025, the house offers a surprising tribute: maturation in oak barrels, in the spirit of the greatest cognacs.
The perfume spent several weeks in two barrels, one of which had contained cognac for ten years. This process, rarely used in perfumery, reveals new notes of nutmeg, powdery iris and deep wood, while respecting the original structure. Olfactory director: Delphine Jelk, Guerlain perfumer, accompanied by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, Hennessy master blender.
A bottle to match the prestige
The design of this edition makes no compromises: a wooden hood, a label with finely drawn oak veins. The result evokes the nobility of materials, between raw nature and discreet luxury.
Even rarer, Guerlain unveils an ultra-limited anniversary edition: a one-liter bee bottle, dressed in red leather and adorned with hand-painted fine gold details. Only 30 numbered copies will be available worldwide, reserved for VIC collectors.
Guerlain, a perfume for insiders, a work of transmission
With Habit Rouge Spirit, Guerlain confirms its desire to reinterpret classics with audacity, while honoring their heritage. This perfume is not just a fragrance, but a refined sensory experience, fusing the world of cognac with that of French haute parfumerie.
