Rosé from BLACKPINK arrives in Hollywood

K-pop icon Rosé turns a new corner. After conquering the music world, the BLACKPINK singer is now inviting herself onto the film scene with her very first track for the big screen. Her track, entitled “Messy”, will feature on the soundtrack of F1, an anticipated blockbuster starring Brad Pitt.

A five-star soundtrack for a highly anticipated film

The F1 film, directed by Joseph Kosinski(Top Gun: Maverick), will feature a former driver, Sonny Hayes (played by Brad Pitt), returning to the racetrack to help his ex-teammate, played by Javier Bardem. A tale of redemption in the ultra-competitive world of Formula 1 racing.

But it’s also the soundtrack that’s already attracting a lot of attention. Produced by Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic), and influenced by the cinematic ambiences of Hans Zimmer, the album will feature contributions from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, RAYE, Tate McRae and Burna Boy. Rosé will add an emotional touch with “Messy”, unveiled on June 27, the release date of the film.

Rosé, towards an international solo career

This project confirms the global positioning of Rosé, who left YG Entertainment at the end of 2024 after releasing her solo album Rosie on Atlantic Records. Dedicated to lost loves and the loneliness of celebrity, the album was hailed for its sincerity. She also made her mark with “APT”, a duet with Bruno Mars that went viral.

While her fellow BLACKPINK members are also exploring the spheres of film and TV – Jennie in The Idol, Lisa in The White Lotus – Rosé seems to be following the same trajectory.
