Plaza Johanna Ortiz: the Colombian market that enchants Paris

A breath of fresh air from Colombia sweeps through Paris. Until the end of August 2025, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche is hosting La Plaza, an immersive installation by Johanna Ortiz, a leading designer on the Latin American scene.

A dreamlike market under a glass roof

Over an area of 220 m², the designer transformed the Parisian department store into a lively tribute to Colombian squares. At the heart of it all: a warm, vibrant, sensory setting. As soon as you enter, you’re drawn in by a majestic wax palm, a nod to the Cocora Valley. Around it, stalls of exotic fruit, bouquets of tropical flowers, the scent of coffee and natural materials sketch a landscape between dream and reality.

Solar fashion and objets d’art

La Plaza is more than just a setting: it’s also a showcase for women’s fashion. Johanna Ortiz unveils an exclusive capsule designed for summer: linen and cotton dresses, vibrant prints, fluid cuts and free silhouettes. Fashion for bodies in motion, sunny spirits and natural elegance.

Around this collection gravitate desirable objects: handcrafted eyewear (L.G.R), scented candles (Bon Parfumeur), quirky pickleball kits (Recess), VAST chocolates and special edition Quindío coffee.

Each piece tells a story: that of a bridge stretched between Colombia and Paris, between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.

A committed, lively and collective gesture

This project goes beyond aesthetics. Johanna Ortiz has invited the Litoral organization to spotlight the artisans of Colombia’s Pacific coast. A weaver from Cali will be on site, offering visitors a live demonstration of her ancestral skills. A way of bringing cultures together in the heart of the capital.

A celebration of life

More than an installation, La Plaza Johanna Ortiz is a sensitive experience, a declaration of love to Colombia, to be discovered until the end of August at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche. An address to be experienced, felt and celebrated.
