Bentley takes to the water with an ethical surfboard

What if the most prestigious British brand on the road also became a symbol on the waves?

A Bentley surfboard? Yes, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

In 2025, Bentley Motors takes an unexpected but strategic turn by unveiling a handcrafted surfboard, designed with care in the UK. This collaborative project combines the expertise of shaper James Otter – founder ofOtter Surfboards – and the vision of Lindsey Holland, creator of Marnie Rays surf retreats.

The result: a unique piece crafted from “Bentley Koa” veneer, a noble wood already used to trim the interior of Bentley vehicles. This choice is by no means insignificant: it pays homage to ancestral Hawaiian techniques, while guaranteeing ethical traceability, in an assertive CSR concern.

Luxury, design and inclusion: an object with a mission

But don’t expect to see this board on the Côte des Basques this summer. After a test phase reserved for a select few selected by Marnie Rays, this creation will not be marketed. It will then be donated to Surfability UK, a British organization offering surfing lessons adapted for people with disabilities.

The ultimate goal? A charity auction to benefit this inclusive association. Bentley transforms a statement of style into an act of commitment, reviving a certain idea of luxury: that which has meaning.

Bentley on all terrains: towards a global lifestyle?

By joining forces with alternative players in the surfing world, Bentley is clearly stepping outside the automotive framework. It outlines the contours of an extended lifestyle universe, combining performance, craftsmanship and social commitment. A strategy already initiated by other luxury brands, but which here takes a resolutely original and supportive turn.

Not just a publicity stunt…

Behind the surprise effect, the Bentley x Otter Surf boards embodies a real reflection on the responsibility of high-end brands. It’s a bold gamble: combining British excellence, Hawaiian history and an inclusive cause. What if this was the real luxury wave of 2025?
