Orveda, the future of excellence in skincare is already here?
What if our skin didn’t need to be corrected, but listened to? This is the radical gamble taken by Orveda, a French biotech brand that has been shaking up the world of high-end cosmetics for several years now.
A living manifesto for enhanced beauty
At the crossroads of Shanghai, New York and Paris, the idea germinated between two minds already well known in the beauty world: Sue Nabi, a CEO respected for her inclusive and radically modern vision, and Nicolas Vu, a globe-trotting entrepreneur driven by the quest for skincare without collateral damage. Together, they imagined a brand that would transcend the boundaries of gender, age or skin tone, a brand that would combine technological power with respect for living beings. Far from standardized marketing slogans, Orveda asserts its position loud and clear: here, we don’t attack the skin, we cooperate with it.
The slogan “I am Orveda” sounds like a declaration of values. It’s not just a line of products, but a philosophical vision: that of a beauty that no longer conforms to imposed standards, but is cultivated with respect, gentleness and self-knowledge. Working with the skin, never against it: this is the brand’s commitment.
Orveda, a care science reinvented: biotechnology
At Orveda, biotechnology isn’t a marketing ploy, it’s the main tool. Based on research carried out in collaboration with renowned biochemists and aesthetic physicians – including Dr. Bui – the brand has developed a formulation in which each ingredient is chosen for its total compatibility with the skin. The strategy is not to promise eternal youth, but to restore optimal skin function, taking into account the skin’s temporal dimension: its past, present and future.
With this in mind, Orveda has introduced active ingredients such as oligosaccharides derived from enzyme catalysis originally developed for intestinal health, thermophilic marine enzymes capable of boosting the natural production of ceramides, and fermented black kombucha, used to slow glycation and revive the rosy glow typical of youthful skin. Each ingredient acts as a link in a virtuous chain: the microbiome is balanced, the skin barrier strengthened, the epidermis illuminated. All without aggression, overload or molecular conflict.
A holistic, ethical and radically modern approach
In addition to its technical sophistication, Orveda is strikingly consistent. Unlike brands that focus on a “star product”, here it’s the routine that takes precedence. The skincare experience is lived in the sequence, in the logic of application and the harmony of textures. This structural choice reveals a true vision of beauty: slow, respectful, unspectacular but profoundly transformative.
Ethics are not forgotten. Vegan, cruelty-free, gender-neutral, the brand takes a resolutely contemporary stance, breaking with patriarchal or guilt-ridden beauty narratives. Orveda doesn’t promise perfect skin, but soothed, balanced, healthy skin. It is aimed at those who have tried everything, who have sometimes tried too hard, and who are now seeking to repair, to relearn.
It’s no coincidence that the brand has seduced personalities as diverse as Naomi Campbell, Sam Smith, Isabelle Adjani and Catherine Deneuve. All testify to a profound, often lasting, sometimes even emotional transformation. More than visible results, Orveda seems to offer relief.
Maison Orveda Paris: an experience more than an address
In November 2024, the brand set up shop in Paris, on Place Saint-Sulpice, in a space that resembles neither a spa nor a boutique. La Maison Orveda Paris is designed as an immersion in the brand’s philosophy. You enter for an ultra-personalized analysis, and stay for a tailor-made treatment in which every gesture is the culmination of a mastered science. The protocols offered, like the Youth Glove Protocol™ for the hands, are not simply demonstrations of effectiveness: they are deeply thought-out rituals, at the crossroads of skincare and active meditation.
Maison Orveda, 6, place Saint Sulpice Paris 6ème, Monday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm.
