These restaurants in the 17th arrondissement are bringing the West of Paris to life

Long a low-profile area, the 17th arrondissement is becoming a culinary scene to watch. Here are four addresses that clearly stand out from the crowd.

Flon Flon: the neo-bourgeois address in Ternes

Just off the Champs Élysées, Flonflon is certainly one of our favorite bistros in the 17th arrondissement. If the name evokes a song, it’s not by chance. Owner and chef Pierre-Thomas Clément has paid homage to Alain Souchon and the spirit of a Paris that has fun.
At Chez Flonflon, there’s no superfluity: the menu focuses on the essentials. Pierre-Thomas Clément favors generous, authentic, no-fuss cuisine, where seasonal produce is sublimated with intelligence. The menu, which changes every two months, features signature dishes that revisit the classics of French cuisine. The finger food menu is well worth a visit, especially for after-work drinks and cocktails.

Episodes: thoughtful bistronomy at Batignolles

Épisodes has quietly established itself in Batignolles. Signature cuisine, soft ambience, wood decor. The menu changes frequently. Three or four starters, as many main courses, and always a dessert to remember. Products are sourced from the best suppliers. The vegetables are organic, the wines often natural. The service team knows every dish and talks about it with passion. The whole experience remains accessible. We linger, we return. Word of mouth has worked well, but the address remains calm.

Le Grand Banquet: conviviality and generous cuisine at Les Épinettes

In the Épinettes district of Paris, Le Grand Banquet breaks the rules. Long tables, dishes to share, a cheerful atmosphere. The decor combines rough wood, large chandeliers and rustic crockery. A la carte: suckling pig, roasted vegetables, creamy risotto. Everything is homemade, right down to the bread. People come here in packs, toast loudly and laugh a lot. The place appeals to groups and loyal neighbors alike. It’s the table in the 17th arrondissement where everyone talks to each other.

Vinello: chic Italian cellar in Pereire

A stone’s throw from Pereire, Vinello has established itself as the neighborhood’s Italian HQ. The place combines a wine cellar with a well-cared-for trattoria. On the walls, hundreds of bottles. On the plate, ultra-sourced products. Puglia burrata, fresh pasta, minute risotto. Every dish is right on target. We come for the antipasti to share and the natural Piedmont wines. The team advises without snobbery. The atmosphere remains relaxed, even if the place attracts a lot of people. Reservations are essential in the evening.
