The Ritz arrives on the Left Bank

The Ritz is finally venturing out of its comfort zone… and it’s anything but trivial. The Place Vendôme institution inaugurates a second Comptoir de Pâtisseries, designed by François Perret . We find it in the coveted Sèvres-Babylone district. An address that intrigues as much as it seduces.

A standout address: the Left Bank has never tasted so good

Since June 2, Parisians on the Left Bank have also been able to succumb to the sweets of the Ritz Paris. Nestled at 45 rue de Sèvres, pastry chef François Perret ‘s new boutique revisits the fundamentals of the palace with a more accessible, resolutely contemporary approach.

Already named the world’s best patisserie last year for its Comptoir on rue Cambon, the Ritz team is using the same formula here.Viennoiseries, savoury sandwiches, fruity madeleines and pastry drinks are available to take away. Added to this is a collection of original éclairs, including a surprising coffee-based one, available exclusively on rue de Sèvres.

A sweet immersion in Vendôme DNA

Visually, the place is all about understated elegance. The showcases are conceived as jewel cases, a nod to the Ritz’s world of fine jewelry. Inside, a few architectural details subtly echo the Place Vendôme, as if never to lose the thread of prestige.

This new address allows Parisians to make the Ritz legend their own,” confides François Perret. A phrase that reveals a change in strategy: to take the Ritz experience out of its institutional framework and anchor it in everyday life.

Things to remember: the Ritz, a nomadic version?

With this second Comptoir, the Ritz Paris extends its aura to a wider clientele. It’s a mix of chic neighborhood regulars, enlightened foodies and curious tourists. This move to the Left Bank is part of a strategic repositioning strategy: to export a heritage image, while remaining in tune with the times.
