Hermès headphones redefine high-end listening

After the vinyl turntable and the connected loudspeaker, Hermès takes the next step. With its first-ever headphones, the Parisian fashion house confirms its foray into the world of sound… and elevates the accessory to the status of objet d’art.
Uncompromising design by Hermès
The Hermès helmet, the fruit of two years’ research, is the work of Ateliers Horizons, an entity dedicated to made-to-measure. Headed by Axel de Beaufort since 2012, the company has already created objects as unexpected as canoes, disco balls and surfboards. Here, he is tackling an unprecedented challenge: combining acoustic demands with Hermès aesthetics.
The result? A helmet with pure lines, dressed in hand-sewn leather using the same techniques as those used for Birkin bags. The polished metal details, the saddle stitching, the finesse of the finishes… all evoke the artisanal excellence of the Maison.
Hermès sound”: the promise of a rare listening experience
It’s not just a beautiful object. The project aims to create a true universe of sound, an auditory signature unique to Hermès. While the technical specifications remain confidential, we already know that the headphones will be both Bluetooth and wired, designed for an intimate, faithful and immersive listening experience.
A “Hermès sound”, then, the fruit of close collaboration between designers, acousticians and leatherworkers. The sound performance promises to match the aesthetic promise: ultra-high fidelity, subtle reproduction, enveloping silence.
A limited edition for wealthy audiophiles
This ultra-luxury helmet will be offered as a limited edition in five exclusive shades: natural brown, black, chocolate, Hermès red and ink blue. Colors chosen to evoke the emblematic lines of the Maison, while underlining the uniqueness of each piece.
In terms of price, WWD quotes a figure of around $15,000. A stratospheric sum that says a lot about the target market: globetrotting VICs (very important clients) with a passion for design and high-fidelity, capable of transforming audio headphones into a statement of absolute luxury.
When utilitarian objects become collectors’ items
With this creation, Hermès is continuing a process begun several years ago: that of extending its know-how to contemporary objects of life, between function and emotion. Skateboards, bicycles, yacht cabins… each creation reinterprets usage in a language of high craftsmanship, rare and desirable.
More than a helmet, Hermès has created a manifesto. A luxury to listen to, to wear, to collect. And one that, for the first time, turns silence… into a new creative territory.
