Hotel Hana reveals the Parisian secret that’s seducing even UNESCO

Few Parisian hotels can boast of having won over a global jury. Hotel Hana, on the other hand, has just joined the coveted list of the world’s most beautiful hotels, crowned by the Prix Versailles 2025, in the “Hotels” category.
A worldwide award for sensitive architecture
Every year, the Versailles Prize, under the aegis of UNESCO, recognizes places that reinvent our living environment with boldness, elegance and sustainability. In this international selection, few French hotels stand out. In 2025, only one Parisian hotel made the list: Hôtel Hana, a jewel nestled in the 2nd arrondissement.
The award celebrates not only architectural quality, but also local roots, ecological performance and cultural sensitivity. These are all values that Hotel Hana expresses with rare delicacy.
The unexpected alliance of Japan and the Belle Époque
Born of a dialogue between two artistic worlds, Hôtel Hana combines the sensibilities of renowned interior architect Laura Gonzalez and fashion designer Olivier Leone. Together, they orchestrate a meeting between Japanese minimalism (inspired by Little Tokyo in Los Angeles) and typically Parisian Belle Époque opulence.
The result is a unique signature: masterful wabi-sabi design, enriched by bespoke textures, materials and finishes. The carpets, designed by Laura and produced by Pierre Frey, respond to the rugs by Marguerite Lemaire, while the textured paintings by Signature Murale dress the walls in hushed refinement. Nothing is left to chance: every detail reflects an aesthetic of restraint, without austerity.
A hotel experience as sensory as it is intellectual
Behind its apparent discretion, Hôtel Hana takes an immersive approach to living, halfway between the intimacy of an artist’s home and the rigor of museum design. The furniture, lighting and natural materials all contribute to creating a soothing, enveloping atmosphere that is never staid.
The corridors are dark, hushed, almost cinematic. The rooms, on the other hand, feature subdued light, elegant volumes and muted narration. The result is a quiet but striking experience, a world away from the glitzy standards of Parisian luxury.
Chapter Six, the collection that whispers where others shout
Hôtel Hana is part of the Chapitre Six Collection, a hotel group with a singular identity, present in Saint-Tropez (Ponche), the Marais, Montmartre and Saint-Germain. Their philosophy? Each hotel is a chapter, rooted in a place, a story, an emotion.
What unites these establishments is the quest for deep roots, combined with absolute design standards. These are hotels of the heart as much as of aesthetes, conceived as filigree manifestos. With Hôtel Hana, Chapitre Six has perhaps signed its most mature, clearest and, paradoxically, most mysterious project.
A discreet hotel that redefines Parisian luxury
At a time when many addresses are betting on the spectacular, Hôtel Hana opts for silence, substance and light. It doesn’t impose itself: it insinuates itself. Perhaps that’s its strength. And unsurprisingly, it’s also what the Prix Versailles has just recognized, consecrating here a new language of luxury, gentler, more enduring, and infinitely deeper.
