B.O.U.L.O.M.: the gourmet buffet hidden behind a bakery in Paris
In the heart of the 18th arrondissement, B.O.U.L.O.M. offers a gourmet-inspired all-you-can-eat buffet, hidden behind a traditional bakery. A surprising address not to be missed.
Paris is full of secret addresses, but B.O.U.L.O.M. manages to be hidden, accessible and exceptional all at once. Nestled at 181 rue Ordener, this “boulangerie où l’mange” (translation of the acronym B.O.U.L.O.M.) actually houses one of the most refined all-you-can-eat buffets in Paris. Behind its retro storefront and windows full of crusty sourdough breads and viennoiseries, lies a cosy dining room, where Julien Duboué reinvents the buffet experience.
An artisan bakery… in appearance only
The place proudly displays its traditional roots: organic sourdough bread, country baguettes, buttery croissants, everything here is homemade. The décor is reminiscent of a village shop in the South-West, a nod to the origins of chef Julien Duboué, a former Top Chef contestant who worked with Alain Dutournier.
But the real feast begins at the back of the store, where a gastronomic all-you-can-eat buffet unfolds. Forget sad, frozen buffets: at B.O.U.L.O.M., every dish is cooked on site, with fresh, seasonal produce, in a generous, locavore approach.
A buffet that flirts with haute cuisine
For €36 for lunch and €48 for dinner, diners can help themselves to as many tasty and refined dishes as they like: melt-in-the-mouth beef ribs, hake à l’escabèche, chicken basquaise, mimosa eggs, seafood, not forgetting a selection of mature cheeses and homemade charcuterie.
Dessert-wise, the same excellence: crêpes Suzette, chocolate mousse, cream puffs, fruity entremets… A sweet farandole worthy of the finest Parisian tables.
The weekend brunch, at €58, follows the same logic: diversity, freshness and generosity on the plate.
A friendly, festive and surprising place
The dining room contrasts with the front bakery: vast, friendly and carefully decorated, it invites you to take your time and share. The service, dynamic but relaxed, reflects the spirit of the place: a real moment of pleasure, without fuss, but with quality in every bite.
B.O.U.L.O.M. has succeeded in dusting off the buffet concept, bringing it closer to gastronomy. An address that appeals to both local regulars and curious visitors.
