Louis Vuitton and Taschen team up for an exceptional book on the America’s Cup

Presented in Paris on July 17, 2025, this collector’s book signed by Louis Vuitton and Taschen pays tribute to 170 years of nautical competition in a rare and luxurious work.

In the heart of Paris, Louis Vuitton and Taschen have unveiled a unique publishing project: a tribute to the America’s Cup, the oldest sporting competition still in existence. With a print run of just 1,000 copies, this exceptional work combines historical accuracy, collectible design and a passion for the open sea.

Designed by Marc Newson, the book features a carbon-fiber case and finishes inspired by competitive sailing. An even more exclusive version, theArt Edition, limited to 175 copies, rests on a sculptural base evoking the keel of a sailboat. The whole is enhanced by the archives, stories and plans gathered by sports journalist Pino Allievi, after six years of research.

A project combining maritime heritage and Parisian luxury

Louis Vuitton didn’t choose this subject by chance. The company, founded in 1854, shares a parallel history with the famous regatta, which was born in 1851. A long-standing partner of the competition, this book confirms Louis Vuitton’s desire to bring together its maritime heritage and luxury expertise.

Paris, where the project was launched, lends a cultural and symbolic dimension to the event. It is here that publishing heritage and luxury design meet, making this object as much an art book as a historical testimony. A piece that is sure to find its place in the finest Parisian libraries.

Technical elegance at the service of storytelling

The book, whose classic version will hit bookstores on September 22, 2025 at a price of €125, will delight lovers of design, sailing and fine books. It offers a plunge into 170 years of heroic tales, legendary sailors and sailing techniques, with particular attention paid to images.
