Villa René Lalique: what’s in store for its 10th anniversary
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Villa René Lalique transforms elegance into a sensory adventure. Nestled in the Vosges du Nord, this exceptional house tells the story of a decade of hotel excellence, precious design and Michelin-starred gastronomy.
Silvio Denz and the triumph of an unexpected dream
In 2008, Silvio Denz, passionate collector and CEO of Lalique, acquired René Lalique ‘s home, built in 1920. This site steeped in history became the site of an ambitious project: to revive the spirit of the House while opening it up to the 21st century. In September 2015, after several years of restoration, the Villa reopened as a five-star hotel and gourmet restaurant. The project was an immediate success: three months after opening, it was awarded two Michelin stars.
The architectural approach is bold yet subtle. Design duo Lady Tina Green and Pietro Mingarelli teamed up with architect Mario Botta to reinterpret Lalique’s DNA through modern lines, noble materials and a focus on crystal. The result: a place that combines heritage, design and respect for the surrounding natural environment.
A menu in ten acts: memory revisited
To celebrate this decade, chef Paul Stradner has devised a ten-course menu, to be served until September 2025. Each dish pays tribute to a key year in the Villa’s history, transforming the meal into an emotional journey through time. The “Sarah Bernhardt” perfect egg opens the proceedings, a nod to René Lalique’s early theatrical inspirations. Subtle creations follow, combining terroir and precision: Alsatian Kartoffelnudeln, Carabinero gambas with red mullet and yuzu, asparagus duo with pomelo, or a delicate rhubarb-safran accompanied by orange blossom.
This menu doesn’t just seduce the palate. It tells a story: that of a place that evolves, explores, asserts itself. With each plate, an emotion, an encounter, a culinary vision.
An exceptional cellar under glass
Behind this gastronomic proposal lies an exceptional cellar, boasting over 60,000 bottles. Sommelier Romain Iltis, Meilleur Ouvrier de France 2015, orchestrates the pairings with exacting precision and poetry. Great Burgundies, rare vintages, local selections: here, each wine tells a story about taste, territory and gesture.
The Villa René Lalique cellar is more than just a setting or a technical asset. It’s a place in its own right, conceived as a sanctuary for wine. It is part of this immersive experience, where every detail contributes to elevating the moment.
Collector’s items: crystal, nature and history
To mark this decade, Maison Lalique has produced a limited edition object: the “Feuilles” candle jar. Inspired by a Lalique-Peugeot pepper mill dating from 1924, it revisits an organic motif that has become emblematic. In lustrous gold crystal, it evokes the Alsatian forest that surrounds the Villa, and reminds us of our roots in nature. This piece is only available on site, at a price of €200, from June 2025.
This choice of a utilitarian, poetic and historic object illustrates the spirit of the place. Here, luxury doesn’t shout: it whispers stories of transmission, elegance and memory.
Crystal, design and heritage in the spotlight
Each suite at Villa René Lalique pays tribute to one of the House’s iconic creations. Six rooms, six atmospheres, six invitations to experience crystal differently. Everything here has been designed to create a fluid continuity between architecture, light and landscape. Natural materials – wood, stone, silk – enter into dialogue with Lalique elements, in a striking sensory harmony.
To sleep at the Villa is to live in an aesthetic manifesto. It’s living to the rhythm of crystal, silence and light. A rare experience, without ostentation, but profoundly moving.
An accredited, committed and lively venue
Since its opening, Villa René Lalique has been committed to sustainable development. In 2025, it was awarded the Clef Verte label, an international benchmark for ecotourism. Waste reduction, short supply chains, eco-responsible management: this commitment is more than just words. It’s a daily reality, reflected in every gesture, every choice.
At the same time, the Villa continues to enliven local cultural and gastronomic life with exclusive events. In March 2025, it organizes a “5 Étoiles du Vin” evening, bringing together Romain Iltis and four other MOFs. Then, in June, a garden party celebrates summer and the Villa’s anniversary, while tours combined with the Lalique manufacture provide a behind-the-scenes look at this crystalline excellence.
Ten years after its rebirth, the Villa René Lalique is more than just aluxury hotel or Michelin-starred restaurant. It embodies a total art of living, a blend of savoir-faire, high standards and emotion. Every stay, every visit, every dish becomes a plunge into a universe thought out down to the finest detail.
