5 exhibitions ending in September (a must-see if you haven’t already)

Summer is drawing to a close and Paris is getting ready to return to its hectic pace. But before agendas fill up, take advantage of the August calm to explore these five major exhibitions still on view for a few weeks.

“Jeff Koons, Shine” at the Bourse de Commerce

On view until September 15, this exhibition devoted to Jeff Koons brings together some thirty monumental and brilliant works, in which the artist plays with light, consumerism and the aesthetics of kitsch.

Distorting mirrors, gleaming metal surfaces, plays on scale… the experience is as visual as it is critical. And the Bourse de Commerce alone is worth the detour for its architecture by Tadao Ando.

“Berthe Morisot and the Impressionist Gardens” at the Musée Marmottan Monet

Until September 29, 2025, this exhibition pays tribute to Berthe Morisot, an essential figure of Impressionism, through her vision of plants and outdoor scenes. Gardens became the subjects of her paintings and places of feminine freedom.

The Musée Marmottan Monet, discreet but rich, offers here a poetic immersion in a work that is both luminous and political. An ideal exhibition to enjoy in the late afternoon, far from the hustle and bustle of Paris.

“Regards du Japon” at the Musée Cernuschi

This exhibition, which runs until September 8, features a refined selection of prints, ceramics, textiles and objects from the museum’s collections, combining traditional Japanese aesthetics with Western influences.

A haven of serenity in the heart of the 8th arrondissement, ideal for a contemplative summer break. Combine with a stroll in nearby Parc Monceau.

“Picasso. Drawing to infinity” at the Musée Picasso Paris

Until September 15, the Musée Picasso is unveiling over 100 drawings, sketches and notebooks from its archives. A rare opportunity to approach the artist in his rawest spontaneity.

Intimate doodles, preparatory studies, stroke play: the exhibition pays tribute to an insatiable Picasso, who never stopped creating. A fluid, lively tour, accessible even to the uninitiated.

📍Musée National Picasso-Paris, 5 Rue de Thorigny, 75003 Paris

“Fashion in motion” at the Palais Galliera

Until September 22, 2025, the Palais Galliera offers a fascinating plunge into the history of sports and leisurewear. Rare archive pieces, contemporary creations, videos and photographs question the place of the body in action in fashion.

An exhibition as aesthetic as it is sociological, perfect for prolonging the summer on a dynamic note. Bonus: the museum’s garden is one of the 16th arrondissement’s best-kept secrets.

Art before recovery

Before the mails start flowing again and Paris becomes frenetic, treat yourself to a quiet cultural break in the capital’s finest institutions. These exhibitions don’t just nourish the mind – they also re-enchant the eye, just before the start of the new school year.
