Nespresso opens its first coffee shop in Paris, in a private mansion in the Marais district

On July 18, Nespresso inaugurated “Le Café”, its very first coffee shop in Paris, in the heart of the Marais district. A hybrid space where coffee blends with design and contemporary art.

It’s a world first for the Swiss brand: Nespresso is launching its own coffee shop, and has chosen Paris to set the scene. The new location is at 47 rue Vieille du Temple, in the Marais district. The space is housed in theHôtel des Ambassadeurs de Hollande, a historic 17th-century building. The contrast between architectural heritage and caffeinated innovation is striking.

Rudy Guénaire, a Parisian designer renowned for his neo-retro creations, was asked to design this unique space. The Café Nespresso ‘s interior evokes the Italian aesthetic of the 1930s, with textured furniture, meticulous lighting and noble materials. The objective is clear: to transform a simple café into an immersive experience, combining craftsmanship and technology.

A cutting-edge menu and exclusive recipes

At the heart of the project: freshly ground beans. Unlike traditional capsules, here the baristas work with two origins of coffee served in the espresso method. Iced creations such as affogato and creamy latte enrich the summer menu.

Special mention goes to the signature drink: Red Mocha Tonka, a bold alliance of coffee, chocolate and tonka bean. To accompany these beverages, the house offers a revisited brioche palm, with unexpected flavors such as strawberry-basil or dark chocolate-flor de sel.

A creative and cultural space

More than just a coffee shop, Le Café Nespresso aims to become a living space, combining coffee, art and lifestyle. Guest artists, such as Thomas Lélu, are featured with works, aphorisms and installations. This is the first step before the announced opening of La Maison Nespresso in October, a concept store that promises to expand this field of expression even further.

It’s part of a dynamic trend in Paris, where auteur coffee shops are attracting customers in search of authenticity, aesthetics and quality products. The Marais, already rich in concepts such as Fringe Coffee and Ob-La-Di, welcomes a new address to try out without delay.
