A new Café-Librairie in the heart of the Musée de l’Orangerie, a cultural and gourmet interlude

Since October 2025, the Musée de l’Orangerie has been inviting visitors to extend their artistic experience in a new living space: the Café-Librairie de l’Orangerie. Conceived as a place to breathe within the museum itinerary, this intimate café celebrates the alliance of culture, literature and gustatory pleasure. Located on level -1 of the museum, between Monet’s Water Lilies and the modern collections, this new space offers a soothing refuge in the heart of the Tuileries gardens. Conceived by Grand Palais Rmn and Musiam Paris, it is designed to enhance the museum’s artistic heritage while offering a relaxing and convivial experience.

From book to plate, an art of living

The Café-Librairie evolves with the seasons and exhibitions, creating a lively dialogue between art and gastronomy. The bookshop features reference works, children’s editions and objects inspired by the museum’s architecture and Impressionist collections. On the coffee side, the menu is inspired by the codes of contemporary coffee shops: specialty coffees, creative lattes, fresh organic drinks, homemade pastries and balanced savoury proposals. Among the must-tries: the signature croque-monsieur, its vegetarian version and the quinoa-lentil-roasted vegetable salad. In autumn, the Latte Nymphéas, a violet drink adorned with a water lily, pays tribute to Monet’s work, with an artistic wink and a gourmet sweetness.

A place to live, from morning till night

Open all day long, the Café-Librairie has become a new meeting place for museum visitors and lovers of the art of living. Tables and benches invite you to linger, leaf through a book or enjoy a coffee in a cosy, bright atmosphere. This modern venue, part boutique, part bookshop, part gourmet space, reflects the spirit of the museum: a celebration of beauty, sharing and suspended time. In the evening, on exhibition nights, the Café-Librairie transforms into a cultural salon, extending the magic of the Orangerie well into the night.
