Seiko puts the solar chrono back at the heart of everyday life, with two models featuring textured dials inspired by the night sky. The style is sporty, the reading quick, and the price remains contained. These new models are aimed at the urban wrist who wants a watch that is reliable, expressive and easy to live with.

Galactic dials at an affordable price

Two chronographs arrive with deep surfaces that play with light. Blue or black reflections are reminiscent of stardust, without being gimmicky. What’s more, the price remains in line with the range’s tool spirit, at €650 each.

Solar movement recharges in the sunlight, just like under a lamp, making life easier. You wear it, it recharges. So there’s no need to worry about having to replace a battery before setting off.

What’s new on the wrist

The Speedtimer design retains its racing look, with legible bezels and straightforward pushers. Seiko focuses on efficiency: clean indexes, sharp contrasts and eye-catching hands. The dial texture adds relief without obscuring the counters.

“A textured dial changes the relationship with time”

Visibility remains the priority, day and night, thanks to treated surfaces and luminous indexes. The chronograph starts on the finger, without hesitation, and returns to zero cleanly. In short, the feel is sporty, with no superfluous frills.

Range, movement and use

The choice of a solar chronograph is based on a simple idea: wear often, set little. This way, the energy reserve builds up over the days, and the watch stays ready. What’s more, the chrono functions can be used to set the pace for journeys, cooking or sports sessions.

  • Practical solar chronograph for everyday use
  • Price controlled at €650 each
  • Textured blue or black “cosmic” dials
  • Enhanced legibility, contrasting indexes and hands
  • Performance-oriented Prospex “Speedtimer” spirit

The resistance of the whole is aimed at fearless wear, from the office to the weekend. On the other hand, the design of the pushers limits snagging and keeps it comfortable under a sleeve. As a result, the watch lives well in the rhythm of a busy day.

Suggested retail price: €650. Steel case, Solar Chronograph movement designed for everyday use.

Finish and comfort

The brushed/polished alternations add character, without stealing the limelight from the dial. As a result, the bracelet retains a solid presence and is easy to adjust. What’s more, the buckle secures the wrist when on the move.

The glass is treated to limit reflections in daylight. You can read the time at a glance, even when moving. As a result, the seconds and minutes of the stopwatch remain visible when things speed up.

Release date, availability and tips

Retailers are confirming that they will be stocking their shelves progressively, according to zone and stock levels. A wrist test remains the surest way to choose. What’s more, both versions target the same audience: active, mobile and precise.

Seiko – Prospex “Speedtimer” Solar Chronograph SPB425: “cosmic” black dial with deep texture, subtle counters and clear timing markings.

Wavering between blue and black? Think of the actual use: office lighting, evening outings, majority outfits. Here, Seiko signs a clear duo: expressive in blue for those who love the material, more sober in black for a broad wardrobe.
