Prestigious silverware, vintage plates, serving dishes with the patina of time, iconic sauce boats or forgotten pieces in storage… more than 20,000 objects dedicated to the art of the table are about to change hands in Paris. On February 7 and 8, 2026, the 2ᵉ edition of La Vaisselle des Chefs invests the 5ᵉ arrondissement for an event as gourmand as it is patrimonial, which has become a must for lovers of fine tables and tableware steeped in history.

As in the first edition, all the items for sale come from prestigious establishments that have made French gastronomy and the hotel industry shine. These include items from Plaza Athénée, Le Meurice, Lucas Carton restaurant, the legendary Bofinger brasserie, as well as Mandarin Oriental Paris, Scribe Paris Opéra and Mori Venice Café. These are just some of the addresses whose backstage areas are a treasure trove.

When tableware tells the story of gastronomy

The initiative is the brainchild of two Lyonnais women, Florence Daveau and Frédérique Belhomme, who are passionate about gastronomy and events. While organizing culinary get-togethers, they noticed that many top houses had large dormant stocks of crockery, often unused but of exceptional quality. From this observation, La Vaisselle des Chefs was born in 2015, with a simple and virtuous ambition: to circulate these objects, offer them a second life and support partner associations.

In Paris, proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Apprentis d’Auteuil, reinforcing the solidarity dimension of the event. Buying a plate or a dish thus becomes a committed gesture, as much as an aesthetic pleasure.

Good deals and rare coins: a not-to-be-missed event

Prices start from as little as €10, making the event accessible to all, even if some rare items will fetch much higher amounts. Saturday will be devoted to the most exceptional items, while Sunday will be devoted to low prices, perfect for bargain-hunting without pressure. A word of advice is already circulating among regulars: arrive early, equipped with bubble wrap and sturdy shopping bags!

Head to 13 rue de Santeuil, in Paris’s 5ᵉ arrondissement, for a unique behind-the-scenes look at the finest restaurants. A rare opportunity to bring home a fragment of French gastronomic history.
