Lunar New Year at the Peninsula Paris: LiLi celebrates the Year of the Fire Horse with sharing, tradition and exceptional gastronomy
For the Lunar New Year, the Peninsula Paris invites guests to a celebration of sharing, tradition and exceptional gastronomy. In the heart of the palace, the Cantonese restaurant LiLi offers a menu specially designed to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, in an atmosphere that is at once festive, elegant and deeply symbolic.
LiLi, a Cantonese jewel in the heart of the Paris Palace

Rich in age-old traditions and meaningful rituals, Lunar New Year finds a fitting setting at the Peninsula Paris. At LiLi, the palace’s Cantonese restaurant, noble materials, delicately arranged lanterns and lines inspired by imperial Asia create a hushed setting, conducive to large tables as well as more intimate meals. For the year 2026, under the sign of the Horse, symbol of vitality, freedom and success in Chinese culture, LiLi celebrates values dear to the house: elegance, perseverance and generosity. Here, over dinner, family and friends gather to express their wishes, share dishes and welcome the New Year in a spirit of harmony.
An exceptional dinner, a tribute to great Cantonese traditions

For this celebration, Chef Tak Lau Yuen and his team have imagined an exclusive menu, designed as a veritable voyage through the classics of Cantonese cuisine, sublimated by rare and symbolic products. The dinner opens with an appetizer before unveiling the chef’s signature dim sum, a delicate steamed bite combining scallops, marine concentrate and Osciètre caviar. This is followed by a selection of exceptional flame-grilled meats: truffled loin, crispy pork and Cantonese duck, a nod to New Year’s festive traditions. The rest of the menu reveals a quail à l’étouffée with spicy-sour notes, accompanied by sea cucumber, matured tofu and bamboo, followed by a pearly turbot, lacquered with ginger and cebette, subtly perfumed with black truffle. Bresse poularde with red dates and marinated mushrooms, enriched with cordyceps, celebrates balance and finesse, before glutinous rice sautéed with abalone, crab and morels, a symbol of prosperity and unity.
A week-long celebration
On Monday February 16, LiLi will exceptionally open its doors to the diner, which is usually closed on this day, to offer this Chinese New Year menu, accompanied by traditional lion dances. This spectacular and meaningful ritual marks the opening of an auspicious new year. To prolong the festive spirit, the menu will be offered from Tuesday February 17 to Saturday February 21, replacing the tasting menu, while remaining available alongside the à la carte menu. A rare opportunity to immerse yourself in this celebration, to discover or rediscover Cantonese cuisine at its most refined, and to make the Lunar New Year a true moment of transmission and sharing, at the heart of one of Paris’ finest palaces.
