This unexpected Lebanese address has finally opened in Paris!

On May 10, 2025, an oriental breeze will blow across the 8th arrondissement. Em Sherif Café finally opens its doors in Paris. The address already promises to become a cult venue.

From Beirut to Paris: a story of heart and cuisine

It’s an event for lovers of authentic Lebanese cuisine. Em Sherif Café has set up shop on the corner of rue de Messine, a stone’s throw from Parc Monceau. The concept, born in Beirut under the impetus of Mireille Hayek, is much more than a restaurant. It’s a sensory experience based on generosity, hospitality and a taste for sharing.

Since 2011, the house has continued to expand internationally. And now Yasmina Hayek, daughter of the founder and acclaimed chef (named Best Chef in the Middle East 2025), is in charge of the Paris opening. Having trained with such great names as Jean-François Piège and Rasmus Kofoed, she has established a warm, elegant vision of Levantine cuisine.

Em Sherif Café, a setting in the image of Lebanon: vibrant and refined

Right from the entrance, the mood is set: oriental arches, wrap-around banquettes, quilted mirrors and Thonet chairs combine to create a décor that blends the Orient with the spirit of a Parisian brasserie. All designed by Beirut architect Samer Bou Rjeily.

The menu is a living tribute to Lebanon: colorful mezzes to share, creamy hummus, man’ouchés cooked to the minute, fragrant grilled meats, melt-in-your-mouth shawarmas and revisited childhood desserts (mouhalabieh, baklava, cotton candy ashta cream). Everything is homemade, and products come from Lebanon or local producers, depending on the season.
