Burberry x Law Roach: the duo that will electrify the Met Gala

What if tailoring became a political act? For the Met Gala 2025, Burberry and Law Roach dare to create a tailor-made vision: bold, cultural and head-on.

A summit meeting between English tradition and stylistic reinvention

This year’s theme – Superfine: Tailoring Black Style – pays tribute to the tradition of tailoring in black culture. A sensitive, profound subject that Burberry could not approach without legitimacy and accuracy. Hence the invitation to Law Roach, iconoclastic stylist revealed by his collaborations with Zendaya, Celine Dion and Anya Taylor-Joy, and winner of a Stylist Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2022.

The designer joins Burberry as Official Artistic Partner of the Met Gala, alongside Daniel Lee, the company’s Creative Director. Together, they articulate a resolutely modern vision of British style, through an Afrocentric and contemporary reading of menswear.

Tailored To You: clothing as an extension of identity

Inspired by Monica L. Miller‘s Slaves to Fashion, this collaboration explores how tailoring can become a vehicle for identity expression, between heritage and subversion. Law Roach calls it an “honor”:

“The Met Gala is a stage for creativity at its finest. Daniel embodies a vision of English style that speaks to me deeply.”

Daniel Lee, for his part, hails a designer who “pushes the boundaries of fashion” and breathes new life into Burberry’s image.

A Met Gala 2025 under the sign of the masculine plural

For the first time since 1995,Anna Wintour will be joined by an all-male board of presidents: Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams. A powerful symbolism, at a time when the men’s wardrobe is becoming the new field of experimentation for luxury brands.
