Chanel opens the doors of the 19M…for a ball

A Chanel banquet in the 19th arrondissement, a popular ball, workshops… What the luxury house is planning this weekend at 19M is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Luxury goes participatory: Chanel reinvents its codes

On May 17 and 18, 2025, the Parcelle du 19M – that discreet but central location in the Chanel galaxy – will be transformed to host La Grande Fête de Printemps, a festive public event to close the Ornementa project. In the heart of the 19th arrondissement, art artisans, committed chefs and contemporary dancers come together, all under the aegis of the famous house.

A popular ball orchestrated by Chanel

On Sunday May 18, starting at 3pm, a festive ball open to all will be held in the Jardin du 19M. Hosted by the Théâtre de la Commune d’Aubervilliers, it will include dance initiations for young and old alike. Just before, chef Walid Sahed will host a convivial barbecue banquet. An unexpected blend of luxury, conviviality and urban culture – rare, especially under the Chanel banner.

Workshops to create… with the Maisons d’art du 19M

Throughout the weekend, the public can try their hand at textile and visual creation: pompons, banners, felt, stop motion… all open participatory workshops, echoing the Ornementa project. This collective work – a monumental curtain measuring 15 by 8 metres – mobilized the Maisons d’art du 19M: Lesage, Lemarié, Montex, Lognon, as well as Maison Michel, Massaro, Goossens and others.

A curtain for the Grand Palais

The highlight of the show: this curtain made by 19M craftsmen will soon be hung in the Grand Palais, when it reopens in June 2025. An elegant way of linking Paris’s artistic heritage with the crafts of tomorrow.

What you don’t want to miss at 19M

Access is free, activities are plentiful and the atmosphere is unique. If you’re looking for a different kind of fashion and art experience in Paris, 19M is the place to be this weekend.
