The Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie is held in Monaco

The world of fine jewelry is on the verge of a quiet but powerful revolution. And Monaco seems determined to be the driving force behind it.

A new chapter opens in the world of jewelry

On October 25, 2025, the legendary Salle des Étoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo will host the very first edition of the Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie. Organized by the Société des Bains de Mer, in partnership with Jean-Philippe Braud – a key figure in the world of luxury events – the event aims high: to bring together the world’s leading jewellery houses, artisans, collectors and gem producers.

This is no mere gala. It’s a deliberate attempt to make haute joaillerie a global cultural and economic lever. Eight trophies will be awarded by a jury chaired by Fabienne Reybaud, a specialist journalist and industry authority.

A strategic vision behind diamonds

This Grand Prix is not just a social event. It’s part of an ambitious strategy: to establish Monaco as the capital of the luxury industries, while giving a boost to a market that has long remained confidential.

According to Bain & Company and Altagamma, fine jewelry now represents almost 10% of the global market, with estimated sales of 31 billion euros. It’s still a discreet field, but one that’s growing fast.

Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and CEO of Groupe Monte Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, sums it up as follows: “For 162 years, we’ve been combining heritage and innovation. This Grand Prix is the perfect illustration of that.”

And Paris?

It’s hard not to see this as a form of competition – or stimulation – for the historic Parisian houses. The Paris jewelry scene, already in full swing, could well be enriched by a new key player.
