Restaurants open in August for travel without leaving Paris

Staying in Paris this summer? So much the better. These restaurants, open in August, will take you across the Mediterranean, Korea or Italy without leaving the capital.

Hébé – A Mediterranean stopover a stone’s throw from Notre-Dame

There’s nothing nicer than strolling along the quays of Paris in August, then sitting down at a cosy place like Hébé, which remains open all summer long. Here, French cuisine blends with Mediterranean flavors, in a spirit of conviviality. What’s new? Tasting menus for two or three, with each guest free to compose his or her own meal from the menu. Meat, fish or vegetarian options, there’s something for everyone. The ambiance remains simple and elegant, perfect for a dinner shared with friends in the calm of the 5th arrondissement.

Didon – Wood fire and Lebanese hospitality

Fancy a generous, smoky meal? Head for Didon, a restaurant in the 6th arrondissement offering warm, fragrant wood-fired cuisine. Opened in August, the restaurant was the brainchild of Carole and Imad, a couple of ex-financiers who wanted to recreate the Lebanese welcome in a Parisian setting. You’ll eat roasted meats and melting vegetables, and be welcomed as if by friends. A great address for sharing rustic, comforting dishes, even in midsummer.

📍8 rue du Dragon, 75006

Sam Sun – An immersion in Korean royal tradition

In a more refined register, Sam Sun invites you to discover bansang, a table art inherited from the Joseon dynasty. Opened in August, this Korean restaurant offers a multitude of small dishes served together, as in the past for the nobility. The decor is sober and elegant, far from the usual clichés, and the recipes are executed with respect for tradition. An ideal address for those curious about Korean gastronomy, in search of a structured and meticulous experience, without having to leave the streets of the 1st arrondissement.

📍41 rue Richelieu, 75001

SamChic – Korean barbecue and royal hanbok

More festive than Sam Sun, but just as open in August, SamChic takes you on an immersive culinary journey, Korean barbecue style. Located in the Pyramides district, this restaurant plunges you into the samgyeopsal atmosphere: grill integrated into the table, marinated meats, cooking to share. A special mention goes to the royal hanbok by Park Sul-Nyeo, which sits proudly at the heart of the dining room. The decor blends modernity and tradition, in a hushed atmosphere ideal for groups of friends or couples who like to cook their own dinner… to perfection.

📍11 rue Rameau, 75002

Madonna Osteria – Northern Italy on the plate

No need to cross the Alps to rediscover the flavors of Piedmont. Madonna Osteria, which opened in August in the 9th arrondissement, pays tribute to Milanese and Turinese cuisine. No pizzas here, but sophisticated, seasonal dishes, imagined by Luigi Capuano and Andrea Paoleli, which give pride of place to transalpine terroir. All this in a chic, understated setting reminiscent of the osterie of northern Italy. A perfect address for an Italian interlude, with a fine selection of wines and products imported directly from there.
