Spotify launches its first 100% women’s festival in Paris with Shay, Theodora and Clara Luciani

On November 18, 2025, Spotify France is organizing its very first festival dedicated exclusively to female artists at the Palais Brongniart. A rich program reflecting the dynamism of the French-speaking scene.
Since its launch, Spotify’s EQUAL program has been promoting female artists through playlists and visibility campaigns all over the world. We all remember the campaigns in which French singers such as Amel Bent, Ronisia and Vendredi Sur Mer graced the giant screens of New York’s Times Square. In 2025, the initiative takes things to a new level: a genuine live festival.
A first-of-its-kind event in Paris
Called the Spotify EQUAL Festival, this ground-breaking event will take place on November 18, 2025 at the Palais Brongniart, in the 2ᵉ arrondissement of Paris. True to its inclusive spirit, the event will bring together female artists from several musical universes: rap with Shay, pop with Clara Luciani, electro chanson with Theodora, dancehall with Bamby, or the electronic avant-garde carried by Oklou. Quebecer Charlotte Cardin and artist Miki complete this line-up, designed to represent the diversity of today’s French-speaking scene.
This festival illustrates a strong trend: the French-speaking female scene is increasingly exporting itself internationally. Oklou was recently praised by Billie Eilish, while Theodora’ s listeners include such global figures as Bad Bunny. The energetic Guyanese singer Bamby, for her part, embodies a new lease of life for dancehall.
A strong initiative in a tense context
This first edition of the festival takes place in a particular context for Spotify. The company is the target of boycott calls: some artists, such as Australian band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, have withdrawn their catalogs because of the company’s policies, criticized for its investments in artificial intelligence and its financial participation in the Helsing military company. Despite these controversies, Spotify France has chosen to shine the spotlight on women’s creation, offering it a prestigious showcase in Paris.
