Hyundai presents an electric 4×4 inspired by an asteroid to challenge Tesla

The electric SUV market is heating up, and Hyundai is stepping up its game. The Korean manufacturer is presenting a 4×4 concept inspired by an asteroid, designed to shake up the segment. The objective seems clear, as zero-emission off-roading is now attracting a wide audience.

A 4×4 mineral concept to make its mark

The message is simple, but ambitious. The new concept boasts angular lines and an adventurous stance, with an elaborate lighting signature. The silhouette evokes a rock carved by space, ready for the slopes. The positioning seems frontal in the face of American references, without abandoning a sober approach.

Hyundai – Crater Concept. This electric 4×4 SUV uses Dune Gold Matte and a mineral look to embody a laboratory of ideas.

The manufacturer has yet to publish complete technical specifications. However, the intention is clear: optimized chassis, instant torque, and electronics designed forgrip. As a result, future off-road driving modes could become standard. Above all, Hyundai wants to demonstrate the value of a useful, readable and ready-to-use design.

Hyundai – Ioniq 5. The compact SUV gains an 84 kWh battery, which improves range and charging comfort, while remaining family-friendly.

The new finishes are taking shape, and then the accessories will do the rest. For example, we can imagine mixed tires, roof bars and reinforced protection. However, there’s no indication yet of when the concepts will be available. Hyundai is moving forward in stages to avoid vague promises.

Cap XRT: from looks to capabilities

Hyundai – Palisade XRT Max. A more muscular orientation is being discussed internally, and an overpowered version would remain plausible depending on future arbitrations.

The XRT models reflect a real demand. Drivers are looking for assertive styling, but also useful features. So running boards, skid plates and hill-assist settings make sense. The message remains pragmatic and compatible with family use.

What this means for future homeowners

The expectations are clear, and the response is concrete. The concept focuses on carrying capacity and ease of loading. Consequently, the question of infrastructure remains central for long journeys. Hyundai is already emphasizing ergonomics and perceived robustness on board.

Hyundai – Tucson XRT Max. A super-powered version is likely if demand follows, with road- and track-oriented settings, subject to homologation.

Prices and availability have not yet been announced, as we are still talking about concepts and product leads. In any case, information will evolve as press tests and industry announcements progress. So keep an eye out for official updates. Hyundai is preparing the ground by balancing performance, usability and technical credibility.
